INFO:Świnoujście is the only Polish city that has no permanent connection to the Polish motherland. In the past there have always been delays in the process and longer traffic jams due to the high volume of traffic in the area of the inner city ferry. This resulted in high burdens, especially for the local residents. For years, plans for the construction of a tunnel under the Świna have been coming up. This is finally to be built in the port area by 2020. The Ministry of Infrastructure estimated the costs for the approximately 1.5 km long and single-lane tunnel tube to be around 200 million euros. At the end of September, a Warsaw company was already commissioned to plan the construction project.

Small ferry (city ferry)

The "Small Ferry" runs between the city center on Usedom and the train station on the island of Wollin. During the day, however, only vehicles with the Swinemünde license plate ZSW may use this ferry. At night, between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m., vehicles with other license plates are also taken.
Pedestrians and cyclists are of course allowed to translate by ferry every day of the week and at any time. Use is free for cars, pedestrians and cyclists.

Kasibor ferry

The Kasibor Ferry can use cars, cyclists and pedestrians, whether local or not, all week long. The ferry is located about 4 kilometers south of the city center at the point where the Old Swine and the Piastowski Canal meet. The ferries run every half hour. Ferry traffic is restricted at night. Therefore, tourists can also use their "small ferry" to translate in the city center at night.
The Kasibor ferry is also free of charge.
