What do I have to consider in Poland?

What you should know before you go to Poland!
In Poland there are still distance regulations and in some cases a mask is required. Some regulations are stricter than in Germany, very high fines ... which are IMMEDIATELY due!

Anyone who is now planning a flying visit to the Poland market or a shopping tour in Swinoujscie should be prepared for some important rules.

In the neighboring country, the minimum distance in public areas (also outside) is two meters. Carers of needy and small children are excluded. Children and adolescents under the age of 13 are allowed to stay in the public space without an adult.
There is no obligation to wear a mask under the open sky. “Mouth and nose must be covered in shops, local public transport, churches, public institutions, cinemas, theaters, cultural centers. Everyday masks must also be worn if compliance with a two-meter distance cannot be guaranteed, ”says the Polish embassy in Berlin.

Exceptions apply to children under 4 years of age, driving alone and with people in their own household, as well as to people who cannot wear a mask for health reasons. "In the case of personal checks, there is an obligation to remove the mask," said the Federal Foreign Office.

SHOPING and EATING
Not only are shopping centers open in Poland. Hairdressing and cosmetic salons also offer their services. In restaurants, bars, cafes, operation is carried out in compliance with hygiene regulations and distance rules - both indoors and outdoors.

There, however, the mask may only be removed after the table is occupied. Discos and clubs in Poland remain closed. Shops, banks and petrol stations may only be entered with gloves, which must be provided by the shops.

HIGH PENALTIES for violation
Those who violate these regulations can be fined 5000 to 30,000 złoty. That is 1250 to 6750 euros. The Polish currency suffered during the Corona crisis. For one euro there is currently 4.43 złoty, a little more than before the outbreak of the pandemic.

How many cigarettes can I buy?
The provisions for duty-free shopping have not changed in the Corona crisis. Among other things, 800 cigarettes and ten liters of schnapps (brandy, whiskey, rum, vodka) are allowed. If you fill up your car fully and also cross the border with a 20 liter petrol can, you will also have no problems.
